Last week my family and I flew up to the sunny Gold Coast where I participated in the Romance Writers of Australia annual conference. To sum up the three days, four nights I mingled with other like minded people was fantastic. I caught up with old friends and met wonderful new ones. This is a quick round up of what I did.
Thursday night I attended Penguin Group (Australia’s) Special Event celebrating the opening of their digital first imprint – Destiny Romance. If you’re looking to submit to them their full submission details can be found here.
Friday I spent all day listening to Alexandra Sokoloff talk about screenwriting tricks for authors (and screenwriters!) Alexandra was excellent but a little scary for a panster writer like myself, but still, I had a few light bulb moments.
Friday night I attended the Harlequin Cocktail Party – Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend. There were plenty of bling floating about along with lots of champagne and wonderful food. I dressed up but I’m yet to find a piccy to share. Not that I went as anything special. ;p
